Sweet, creamy, dreamy

The first whiff is one of fruity sweetness, and the marble-white color hints at what’s to come. The medium-to-full body of this sake delivers as promised; the flavor is an alluring mix of sweet fruit and creamy umami. This makes for a top-tier pairing with either desserts or spicy foods. Whichever you choose to serve, Kurosawa “Nigori” stands as a premium example of just how good nigori can be.

Kurosawa Brewing Company

Founded in 1858, Kurosawa Brewing Company has access to two underground wells fed by the Chikuma River. This water is soft and tasty, so much so that Kurosawa uses it for both brewing and to sell as mineral water. The brewers focus on the traditional kimoto method of brewing. They use this labor-intensive process to produce 60% of their sake. Despite the additional work and added time, Kurosawa finds this method their preferred way to get deep, full-bodied sake with rich flavor. Their sake is now being exported to the U.S., Germany, Australia, Malaysia and other countries!
