“Kome” means rice, and “sasayaki” means whisper. The brewers have such passion for top-quality Yamadanishiki, one could call them rice whisperers! The name also portrays their flagship daiginjo’s delicate style. When it was launched in 1979, this style was not yet commonplace. Its light, sweet profile of flower and peach earned it the platinum medal at the World Wine Championships. Endearingly, the label’s calligraphy was written by the third-generation president’s wife.
