Named for the red, phoenix-like bird on the label, this junmai ginjo pays homage to the mythological creature said to be the guardian of the south. The southern gate of the ancient imperial capital of Kyoto, the city where Gekkeikan is located, was named after this bird. Bask in its tropical fruit flavors, umami, and gentle sweetness, all of which culminates in a short, dry finish.
