Godzilla Sake

Three Godzilla bottles. Two of them just landed.

Maruhiko brews in Mie prefecture, where Godzilla made its first historic landing. Their 70th Anniversary Epic Battles is a junmai daiginjo — custard cream puff and banana on the nose, then dry and mineral at the finish. Black Roar is the other side of the same brewery: 18% undiluted genshu, creamy vanilla opening into brandy-soaked pastry, and it holds up chilled, on the rocks, or warmed. Both are our own direct imports, which is the only reason they're on an American shelf at all.

Sake Godzilla from Ninki-ichi has been with us longer — brewed in traditional wooden barrels and aged in the bottle, light and dry, mineral and melon. The brewery sits near the hometown of Eiji Tsuburaya, who co-created the monster.

All three arrive in collector boxes with artwork inside. Limited release — when they're gone, they're gone.

Both Maruhiko bottles are Direct Imports — and any two Direct Import bottles ship free. Take the pair, or take the set.

Both Maruhiko bottles — $169   All three — $254

720ml each. Must be 21+ to purchase; an adult signature is required on delivery.
